Harry Potter and the Defective Yeti

As noted previously, I've not read any of the Harry Potter books, and with this business about who all J.K. Rowling will/might/oughta/could/can't/shan't/mustn't/cussn't kill off in the final volume, lately I've felt even less inclined to add them to my to-read list.

Then I read Defective Yeti's recent take on Half Blood Prince and how to get quickly caught up on books 1-5, and now I'm back in the "probably will, eventually" camp. Though, given a choice, I think I'd rather read 1,000 pages of Defective Yeti.
